Mode Conditioning Cable are designed to be used with Gigabit Ethernet and other applications where both Singlemode and multimode interconnects must be maintained. These cables are primarily used in Gigabit (1000Base-LX) applications to prevent DMD (Differential Mode Delay).

Mode conditioning cables are designed for Gigabit Ethernet multimode applications at 1300nm wavelength; the application standard is IEEE 802.3z. All mode conditioning fibre optic patch cords are made with duplex cable; with a single mode to multimode offset fibre connection part in one of the two legs, as you can see in the picture above.
Mode conditioning leads are available in both 62.5/125 and 50/125. The 62.5/125 is the more common of the two.
We stock a variety of mode conditioning leads with various connections such as LC-ST, LC-SC, SC-SC and SC-ST. The first termination is always the one with the singlemode leg on so for example the LC-ST leads would have the singlemode leg on the LC end. Mode conditioning leads are normally supplied in lenghts from 1m to 5m but we can offer longer length leads if required and we stock some options in 10m lengths.
